CDO Meat Loaf PastelCDO MEAT LOAF PASTEL

Ingredients:

For the crust:

½ cup lard
¼ cup butter, softened
1½ cup sall purpose flour
½ cup DANES CHEESE, grated
1 tbsp sugar
Cold water

For the pastel filling:

¼ cup butter
1 tbsp garlic, minced
2 tbsp onions, chopped
3 cans CDO MEAT LOAF 100g, cut into cubes
1 pc carrot, diced, blanched
½ cup canned water chestnut, diced
½ cup frozen green peas
1 cup heavy cream
1 pc beef cubes, crushed Salt & pepper to taste

For the egg wash:

1 pc egg yolk, mixed with
2 tbsp milk

Procedure:

To prepare the crust, mix together the first five ingredients until well blended. Pour cold water to form a dough. Roll dough until smooth .Chill before using.

To make the filling, sauté garlic and onions in butter. Add in the next four ingredients. Stir in the cream. Season with beef cubes, salt & pepper. Simmer. Adjust seasoning.

In a small ramekins or oven proof dish, put cooked mixture. Roll chilled dough evenly, using a sharp knife cut enough dough to cover mixture. Brush with egg wash. Bake in a oven toaster or oven until golden brown. Serve hot. Serves 6.
