| The company was founded by multi-awarded dietitian Corazon Dayro Ong on June 25, 1975. Foodsphere, Inc. started as a backyard meat processing business, producing homemade native meat products. Over the years, it has perfected the art of meat processing, gathering a wealth of experience, resources and a remarkable volume of insight.
Today, the CDO brand is very much a part of the lives of Filipinos from island to island, from dawn to dusk, in almost all their meals. The company's climb to its market position as a major industry player is attributed to the availability of its high-quality products to the mass market at very competitive prices.
AWARDS AND CITATIONS
- CDO-Foodsphere's technoplant was adjudged the Best Meat Processing Plant in the Philippines under the "AAA" category by the Department of Agriculture - National Meat Inspection Commission, Department of Health, Department of Environment and National Resources, and Department of Interior and Local Government for three consecutive years (1999, 2000 & 2001). A Grandslam for CDO-Foodsphere.
- CDO-Foodsphere was voted as the Most Outstanding Meat Processing Company in five consecutive years (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 & 2003) by the Consumers Union of the Philippines.
- Company founder, Corazon Dayro Ong, was the recipient of the 1996 Most Outstanding Dietitian Award conferred by the Nutritionists-Dietitians Association of the Philippines.
- Ms. Ong was also the Agora Awardee for the Most Outstanding Medium-Scale Entrepreneur in 1997 given by the Philippine Marketing Association for her successful stewardship of CDO-Foodsphere.
- Ms. Ong was the Most Outstanding Professional for 1999 in the Field of Dietetics given by the Professional Regulations Commission.
